    Transnational Feminisms

Transnational feminist movements have been one of the main political forces in the last few years. Mobilizing against restrictive gender norms, violence against women, and hyper exploitation of feminized labor, they challenge authoritarian and anti-feminist governments and tendencies as well as the capitalist mode of production at large. Other ways of relating and caring emerge in these struggles. These major mobilizations across the globe build heavily on transnational and translocal connections showing new ways for alliances working across the nexus of class, race and gender and well as global power relations.
How are transnational feminist solidarities practiced and negotiated? Which tools and methods are used? What are the challenges, ambivalences and limits that transnational feminisms face? Which concepts are put into practice, mobilized, reworked or reimagined? How can we make sense of the changes, openings and imaginations taking place in the movements?
Speakers: Nadje Al-Ali, Veronica Gago, Eva von Redecker
